Merricks current B is a combination of the Stump Jumpers old rig and the Rough Riders old rig, its mostly comprised of the Stump Jumpers rig. The remainder of the the rough riders truck was scraped.
We did not build the current O.B. Teddy's Boys B. I think it was team built.
The old Eggnoggers truck was scraped, however the rear was saved and is now serving as a bar in a private home in Oceanside.
The Stump Jumpers truck, previously the Oceanside Misfits truck, was built by us for Bill Bedell's father. He sold it to Oceanside for $1. It previously served and a telephone company bucket truck.

Our b-truck originally was built by Richard Roper. The team did the up-dating to the ugly ass back body to make it more user friendly.

Wow, not too many people knew he built that for Roslyn.

Nozz - go to a website like www.photobucket.com. You can make an account and upload your photos there (making them accessible to people on the web). Then, you use the "img" command on the reply screen and put the url ("http:\\blablablabl") inside the brackets. Try hitting preview instead of post until you get it right. In regards to the CI photos, I'm not sure but I believe we are looking at our first B Truck and C truck, respectively. I do know that that is my grandfather driving the B truck in the first photo. Can you tell?

Roslyn Rescue "Steamers" New Hyde Park "Termites" NHP started racing this B in 1971 after purchasing it from Rescue and re-started their team after it disbanded in the early 60's. Rescue ran it through the 60's before selling it and then had the current Copiague rig built. Not sure what happened to it after NHP.

Merrick "Buckeyes" Levittown "Rebels" Levittown purchased this rig from Merrick and ran it in a drill or two. The Rebels still owned their current B at the same time. You could still see "Hose" on the door where it said Empire Hose and the Merrick truck number on the front licence plate.

You could still see "Hose" on the door where it said Empire Hose and the Merrick truck number on the front licence plate. 2 Questions: Is it just me, or is there hose already flying out of this truck, before they have past the timing line? Why did Levittown own 2 of the sweetest mid-60's Ford B-Trucks ever made...at the same time???? Always has been a mystery to me. They owned the Franklin Square, Lawrence-Cedarhurst rig, and then they buy a similar rig from Merrick. Anyone?
