1948-50 Ford Bohemia "Suicide Squad" Towards the end of its time with the " Suicide Squad" it was painted a really ugly mustard yellow color with black skull and crossbones (they also ran a Corvair nosed c-rig with the same paint scheme). The Flukes purchased it but only took it for the pump. After that Oceanside took it for parts to use on their old multi colored "nightmare" 51 Ford. After they took what they needed from it it went to, of all things, a daycare center in Oceanside (Alphabetland) where it was used as a toy to play on

1939 Ford 1 1/2 ton Bayshore "Redskins" which was purchased in 1939 for use by the BSFD Redskins. When World War ii began and a lot of dept members went overseas to fight in the war the B-truck was turn into a engine for Victory Engine Company. After WWII the truck was put back to work as a B-truck. Over the years the truck has been though many changes, most notable is the size in the early 1980's the truck was cut down in size and that's when the team changed color from red to maroon.

A little more history on the G.C.P. truck. Originally was a Good Humor Ice Cream truck. After Garden City it went to; West Babylon (name unknown) Deer Park "Bucks" Mastic "Whistlers" (for the pump) Middle Island "Dirty Dozen" (painted it green) Hunt. Manor "Bulldogs" (painted it back to red) Where it sits to this day collecting dust. I have pics of it from the early 80's (Bucks) I will try to post.

The Bulldogs saved our life one night, actually early morning, okay real early, before a tourney in '99. The only other front brake drum for a '56 Ford F 5 we could find was in Arizonia. They let us send the wrench up there and take them, returned and replaced them on Monday. Shoot me, but THAT IS THE MEANING OF THE SPORT!

Elsmere's is a converted mini pumper. Remember watching them run b hose in islip terrace(early 80's) watching the hose fly off the high hosebed.
