Great stuff. Can we name some of the teams shown? I see the Moriches team in a few shots (the B truck that sits under a tree next to a barn in a potato field out east).

I am blown away by this collection. There are photos here of some little seen trucks!
Wyandanch running hose with East Islip's old B, now painted blue.
I particularly like the photo of East Moriches running B-Ladder "old-style" starting the run with the ladder planted in the bed. This may be one of the last time they ran (?) I beleive this photo is from Lindenhurst 68' and I have not found any more recent score for them.
Very rare photos of North Lindenhurst running the old "B" (from Deer Park) before it was cut down.
How about the Flukes C with the 49' Austin nose???
Williston Park (Sparks or Woodpeckers in 1968??) preparing for B-Ladder. We later see this rig on a trailer, in a driveway painted white, but it never saw the course again.
A really, really rare photo of the Road Runners using the Ranger's B-Truck in B-Ladder in Hicksville 1968. The next year, they used the Runts B-truck in all of the B races.

Oh yeah, and mixed in here are photos of Glenwood's Backwards Beer Tournament at their track next to Station 2, where no one could run thier usual spot.
Levittown running B-ladder......
We see both Glenwood and Port Washington running ladder, using the Greenhorn's B-Truck, and the Flukes and Westbury using Hempstead's B-truck in hoses.

Historian, if I remember what I was told, East Moriches last "used" their 'B' in 1970. Also, Center Moriches' '54 is still around and may one day return to the track.
Excellent additions!!!

A really, really rare photo of the Road Runners using the Ranger's B-Truck in B-Ladder in Hicksville 1968. The next year, they used the Runts B-truck in all of the B races. I had always thought the Rangers used their '51 Ford (Bethpage,North Merrick,Oceanside) all the way up until the team ended. I never knew they had one of the 61 style Fords. Where did this truck go after the Road Runners started using only the Runts truck?

Rangers used the Ford right up to when Road Runners were formed....RR used it in 68 then switched to present day truck which was formally run by PW Runts...Ford went to Bethpage then beleive Oceanside and the wild paintjob

Where did this truck go after the Road Runners started using only the Runts truck? That is correct about the Rangers using the 51' Ford all the way until they merged to form the Road Runners. In 1968 the newly formed Road Runners used the Ranger's old B for B-Ladder, and the Runt's old B for B-Hose and Motor Pump. The next year they used the Runt's B-Truck for all of the B contests, and sold the Ranger's B to Bethpage. The Rangers never had a 61' Ford. Let me know where you saw that, I don't see where it is.....

When you mentioned the rare photo of PWRR using the Rangers rig for B ladder, I thought you were referring to photo 23. My mistake. And as for the file names, when you right click on the photo and save to file, a file name is shown for each picture.

West, the answer to your question about Westbury is that the Dodge Challanger went to Hewlett before it moved on to a up state team. Mike Heller should take notice to the 7th picture from the bottom. It is a white fiberglass 1933 Willys nose going on a "modified" automobile chassis. This was the work of Eddie Akam of A&P Automotive in Port Washington and was run by the Road Runners for many years before moving on to Elmont. Picture # 5 is Billy Moon's (Islip) Dad driving Islip Terrace C Truck at Central Islip. This C Truck was obtained from the Centereach Hose Jockeys. Picture # 6 with New Hyde Park's Corvette also has Jericho Bachlors and the Plainview Plainsmen as the next two teams to come to the line. Picture 15 shows Tommy Hester climbing for St. James. He was a state record holder in "C Ladder". Third from last picture is the Hempstead Yellow Hornets C Truck which was a sister truck to the North Lindenhurst Piston Knockers. The picture shows it being run with no paint. These trucks were built by Lee Christensen out of his shop that was on Moffit Blvd in Bay Shore. He was right up the street from Bay Shore's practice track. Lee was also Bay Shore's mechanic at the time. Lee Christensen was responsible for installing a number of the Hale CBP 400 pumps in the late 70's to the late 80's. This is the first time I have ever seen a picture of the Austin fiberglass nose on the Hempstead Flukes C Truck. It was short lived as it was soon replaced with lighter aluminum panels. These pictures were an awesome surprise to see. How soon can we be lucky enough to see more like these? ??
