On the news caption, think the caption is wrong; team is in white mostly, not blue, and almost looks like a stripe on the jersey of the climber. PW Rangers had a great climber who always wore a football style jersey with stripes on the arms.
UncleKevie, thanks for the info on the Challenger.
Why yellow shirts pushing what looks like Roslyn's C (the Flea) off the track - thought Roslyn has always been red shirts.
Time to find out how to get my old pics scanned in.

Yea the climber in the photo is robert haragism aka fud and in photo look closely he has the jersey u speak of on...can c stripe on arm.....last couple years o f Rangers it was always mix and match with who could run as alot of regs were in Viet Nam(which pretty much was reason the Runts were no more)so it wasnt like earlier years where they wore the blue jerseys

Which of the Wizards out there in cyberspace can put up then and now pictures of the Road Runners driver from the 70's-80's in the pictures above such as numbers 19,20,26,51,53 and 55 with some of the pictures from the Town of North Hempstead/Town of Oyster Bay Drill when Port came down the track with him in the passanger seat of their B truck for their victory celebration. Old drivers never die, they just need a cane and some help getting out of the truck in their old age! God bless that man! He was a happy camper that day!

West, Highlanders also wore light blue shirts back in the 70's just like they did part of this year. Gary Schaum is in some pictures spiking the left side in C Ladder at Central Islip. That bright orange mop of hair is what you will see first in the picture.

Picture # 1 looks like the old Roosevelt Rum Pointers B- Rig?? Not the Hornets ? You are correct. If you look at this pic from the same tournament you will see the Hornets B-truck with no doors and a yellow grill. You will also see some Flukes in the pic. Can anyone name them? I can tell you that the gentleman on the grass side of the fence is my father Tom Laverty. Based on the Flukes that are in this picture, this is from 1972. By that time, the Hornets had taken the doors off the Dodge. Also, Roosevelt's Dodge was a different year, and had dual headlamps.

Why yellow shirts pushing what looks like Roslyn's C (the Flea) off the track - thought Roslyn has always been red shirts. Time to find out how to get my old pics scanned in. Hey West, that's not "The Flea" that's the truck called "Baby Doll" built by Lindenhurst, sold to St James, then sold to Inwood, and then sold to the Highlanders......wow, 4 departments!

The Flea was the C Truck that the Highlanders had before Baby Doll and yes the Highlanders had Yellow jerseys in the 60's.

The Rinky dinks didn't have that C-Truck when we raced in PA. The first year was 72 and we had the Camaro nose.
