Figured I'd start this up to bring back some great memories.
These are My Most Memorable Moments by Event. I'm sure this will bring a bunch of cool posts, maybe even some pics to go with them:
3-Man Ladder
Run-off between Central Islip & North Bellmore in Central Islip, 2002. Both ran a 6.10 I believe, right? Then CI ran a 6.04 and the Dinks ran a 6.08. I remember the crowd going nuts DURING the runs.
B Ladder
The Nassau Drill in Oceanside in 2002. The termites smoked a 4.98, then Manhasset came down and beat that with a 4.95. Manhasset went on to tie the "C" ladder record that day by running an 8.63.
C Ladder
August 19th, 1995 at the State in Clayton. North Lindenhurst broke the state record by running an 8.70. Coincidently, they broke their own record of 8.79 ran in Oceanside the previous week.
C Hose
The Hempstead Yellow Hornets ran a 12.58 at the 1997 States in Hempstead. Kevin Candido ran nozzle for most of the year in "B" and "C" hose. Hempstead racked up 19 points in the first 4 events, but North Lindy came from behind and took the Cup.
B Hose
Sorry Guys, gotta go with this one. State drill, Main Transit in 2000. Islip Terrace came down and SMOKED a 7.57. Roslyn came down a few teams later and beat that with a 7.55, allowing them to finish 5th place overall for the day.
Efficiency
West Sayville in the State Drill, Merrick in 2001. The Dutchmen ran an 8.52, just shy of breaking the record by .01. They clinched the 2001 State with that run.
Motor Pump
New Hyde Park in Lindenhurst, gotta be "Dom's Slide". They cranked a 5.54 and broke the state record. The Termites went on to win that drill with 26 points, also running an 8.68 in "C" ladder. The record at the time was 8.63.
Buckets
North Lindenhurst in the 1997 State Drill had 17 points going into buckets, just 2 points behind the Hornets. The Knockers were the second to last team to run for the day, and they cranked out a 20.55, giving them 5 points and winning the 1997 State Drill.
