In this news story Locust Valley pulls the old "nozzle in the hose" trick at a 1930 tournament. The account is quite colorful. Visit www.pwfdhistory.com

Nice! I'll give it to my Chiefs for their next letter, a much more dignified descrition of the complaint!

WOW! Sweet piece of history! The only time I've seen Locust Valley on the track was with the juniors- Snoopy's Raiders.

They had an OF team called the "Chiefs" and another called the "Swamp Things"

OMG, LMFAO... the "swamp things" hahaha That's a new one that crossed the line into total "Absurd-ness" Thanks for pointing that one out, but now I'm all laughed out.
Can you just imagine Rowse announcing... "OVERTIME FOR THE.... 'SWAMP THINGS'
But wait, I think they were actually turtles or frogs from the swamp.

They had a special way that they wanted the name announced off of the arch.
"Shwee Swamp Things" or something like that.
They corrected the announcer after each attempt.
