Yes...the old NHP/Carle Place C truck is in upstate. It's part of the Sandy Roberts collection, currently residing in West Carthage...hoping to see it on the track someday.

I actually worked at Nassau Custom Fabrication for John and his side kick Richy Sikorsky. The shop motto was "Sure we do that" This was in the early 80's. What an education and experience. To this day when I play in my shop I still have John logic instilled and that "Sure we do that' attitude, thanks John- "Crazy Harry".

Re the Clamdigger vet. It wasnt actually a "perfectly good vet". It had been in a slight accident and was available pretty cheap. It was an economical way to go for something great. The hood scoop on the rig was crafted by John. The original scoop was too small to fit with the Holly carbs on the cross ram manifold. Also, dont remember "little Herman" but do remember "little woowoo". However the Herman pics (taken in front of the WFD) were later in the rigs stay at Woodmere (after I left) so who knows...
