Well happy New Year to you Riverhead and Beavertail. January 1, 2007 will always be remembered in my heart and mind as pick on Uncle Kevie day. I'll exclude you out of that Dave. But 20 lashes in a pickle barrel to Ryan for thinking I'm an old fart! Believe it or not once upon a time I was 70 or 80 pounds lighter than I am now. It was also a time before a few operations to fix my broken down body. I am on the right side of the handle pulling the cart wearing white pants.I would say that picture is 1975 or 1976 when I was 17 or 18 years old. I know it's hard to believe that old guys were at one time young guys. On the historical side of things the Raiders Drill Team was formed in 1974 for the 1975 season by Jocko's father George Kempf and a current Ex-Chief Jack Parrett. I was there in that first seasonas one of the jackass kids.(Too new and young to be calling off anything as Beavertail suggested.) I don't think we won anything in the first season. One day I am going to go through our trophies carefully and find out if my memory is slipping. In our second season in 1976 we one a Friday night tournament in Deer Park. The team over the years in the early eighties got very competitive in Old Fashioned Drills. The Raiders had to throw away the Suffolk County Old Fashioned Total Points Title when they ran thier first motorized drill in Islip Terrace on Labor Day in 1983. The guys couldn't wait till the next season to start running the motorized circuit. And as they say the rest is history! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

Happy New Year back at you Kev. Wasn't picking on you, just curious if you were with the Raiders then, that's all, no harm, no foul? Also, thanx for the brief history of the Raiders(looking forward to more of it). I also remember about the Points Title snafu and I remember you guys making your debut @ Terrace.
