...I found this while doing some research on the origins of the sport. It's from The Brooklyn Daily Eagle, dated August 21st, 1901. It's funny (in a strange way) to see that they were arguing over tournaments even back then! Be patient reading it until you get to the middle of the article, and it starts to get good. Anyway check out the quote at the bottom of the second page, from a bystander at a Lindenhurst tournament in 1900..."Didn't see nuthin' 'cause th' dust wuz all so fired thick, but what we did see, I tell yer, wuz purty darn fine." ...funny as hell!
