Thanks Giants Hat. It's been a long time. Sayville tied Patchogue, and we won the coin flip for the first place trophy.

Bayport's track wasn't long enough to run C Hose. Suffolk used to run the "Big 12" at the county for a long time.

historian can u advise how log suffolk did this and whe was last year...on one hand it would be good idea because of the smaller amout of teams we have now but on other hand 3more events to practice in heart of racing season and additional equipment r tough

The 12 event drill was part of the Suffolk County Championship up to the early 70's.
In 1975 the Suffolk Drill was held in Bayport, and as previously mentioned, the could not run C-Hose due to the length of the course, but added Efficiency Replacement to make it 12 events.
In 1976 the Suffolk Drill was hosted by West Sayville, and it was a 10 event drill, adding Individual Ladder and Efficiency Replacement
It was also the format for the Labor Day drill that was regularly held in East Islip. Unfortunately, we only now get to see those great contests at the Islip Town Drill.
Both Western and Northern ran 10 or 11 events, depending on the host, adding running ladder, running hose, and running hose replacement at different times.

Nightraider, yes I did, I cut & pasted what u had into mine, saved me a lot of time, thanks.
It appears that several times in the 70's an Islip town team would host the town drill on 4th of July weekend with 12 events & then host the county the following week, again with 10 or 12 contests. Since most of them (sayville, west sayville, brentwood, etc.) didn't have permanent tracks it made sense to get 2 fundraisers out of the effort.

To add, we ran 10 at the County in Bayport, 1990 (added Individual, Dummy and Combination, no C-Hose) the year Bay Shore hosted the county in Central Islip, '91, we ran Individual and Combination. Since '91 however, I do not recall running any extra races in the County Drill.
