what a gorgeous truck...be hard to do the flip and get the wheel turned on .look at the amount people lined up side of course...r there any other pics from this drill? kinda curious if all those people r in addition to full stands

June 28th, 1947 Southern New York Drill
Drill is on Rider Av, adjacent to where the current track is. Looks like the houses in the background are still there.

IN 1947 THE SITE OF THE CURRENT TRACK AND BALL FIELDS WAS A MARSHY AREA OF BULLRUSHES. ACROSS THE STREET TO THE LEFT OF THE HYDRANT IN THE PIC WAS THE FOOTBALL FIELD FOR SETON HALL H.S. WHICH HAD BLEACHERS SET UP. AT LEAST THATS WHAT I HEARD FROM SOME OLD TIMERS!!!!

Go to Bing maps-go to birds eye view. House closest to current track is gone, but the other 2 are still there. Couldn't find the hydrant though!
