In 1956 at the labor day drill, in the Motor hose #2 contest, at the start of the contest the record was 17.3. Bay Shore ran 17.1. Islip ran 17.0. West Sayville broke the record for the third time that day with a run of 16.0.

Event: Efficiency Replacement Drill: 7th Battalion Track: Merrick Year: 1990? If I remember correctly, West Hempstead broke the state record. Then almost immediately following them, the Hempstead Flukes came Down and broke the record. The water was tested and found to be out of tolerance. Then the Flukes broke it again on their rerun.
