if anybody from drillteams.com reads this if u look at team summarys from labor day tourney the times got mixed up and sent to wrong teams...like 3 teams in early 20s....not being critical just letting u guys know

What a great tournament to talk about, the State Tournament held at Rochester in 1973. Not only did PWRR break the State Record in C-Ladder only to have it beaten and not put in the books (shame) but they also broke the State Record in B-Ladder with a 5.64.
[glow=blue,2,300]Also that day, the Hempstead Flukes broke the State Record in Motor Pump by running a 6.18.[/glow] The record for C-Ladder going into that tournament was a 9.89 which was run by St. James Wildcats on 9/2/68 @ Hicksville. Having just broken the State Record in B-Ladder the Road Runners ran a 9.78 in C-Ladder. I would love to know how many teams later Bay Shore ran but when they did they ran a 9.65. Setting the new State Record in C-ladder until they beat their own State Record on 8/24/74 by running a 9.47.
Of most important note the Port Washington Road Runners won the New York State Motorized Championship Drill with 23 points.
The Road Runners started as a team in 1968. The Runts and Rangers stopped racing in 1969. The Rowdy's were the only other team from Port in 1973 and they took 5th place in the State Tournament.

Early 90's at 7th Batt. @ Hempstead's track Elmont Bangtails broke the efficency record and while the officals were still checking their hose West Hempstead Westerners went next & broke their record and ran a 8.54 i believe was the record back then. ps this same subject is on here somewhere.

If your record is broken in the same event, does it still count as far as the history is concerned, or does the State only consider it a record if it holds up through the event? I think it should count; you ran the time and went through all the testing, but someone else happened to do it too that day.

Actually I think the two shortest time state records are Individual Ladder (4.13) and B-Ladder (4.82). (Motorized/Electric Time)
It is pretty clear cut. I cannot understand what all the discussion is about.

An even better question: From last year, actually. When was a record broken, held to the end of the contest, and not take 5 points, in a state tournament. Contest, team, time, year, location and circumstance

and i think the shortest state record held would have been 3-man ladder after the second team ran in a sanctioned event.

According to Mark Jaffe of Lindenhurst, the Skins broke the B Hose record in 1974 NYS drill, only to be broken by the Snails with an 8.01 2 or 3 teams later!

Chris, Lindy did it 49 teams later. The real amazing thing is 3 teams broke the announced record that day, and another tied it! Quite a day for B-hose.
