West Sayville had it won in 1999 and 2001 at the conclusion of the Efficiency contest. Islip did it in '03 at the conclusion of Efficiency as well. The next one I could find was Patchogue in '83 and the year before in '82 after contest six, which was Motor Pump back then.
I did not recognize any in the 70's, but it is difficult to quickly calculate with many not having the complete scoresheets. And before the 70's it becomes more difficult to find out for sure, there is some state drills that have not made their way to the state site yet.
I do recall hearing about Islip and Oyster Bay having big days at the states once, with 30+ points, but cannot find the information to recall.
Anyone? Historian?

I belive North Lindenhurst was locked after the Motor Pump contest in 1998. God knows it could never be the efficiency contest. LOL

'04 - West Sayville '02 - Hempstead '98 - North Lindenhurst '93 - Central Islip '91 - Patchogue '87 - Lindenhurst '81 - North Lindenhurst

I have been trying to recover the scorecard from one of the best performances in the State Drill, but I have not had any luck..... In 1964 the Rough Riders came out late in the season with a new motor in their C-truck. It was all that a very good team needed. They won 6 of the 8 events in the State Drill for a big 30 points, which stands as their best performance to date. But it was not a runaway....The Islip Wolves chased them all day, and finished second with 21.5 points, even with a blown rear end in the C-Hose, giving them a no-time in their best contest. Quite a show.

Didn't Islip once score in the 30's or am I confusing that with a story of a big invitational they had?

Syosset almost won the 74 states with buckets had a 1st in pump and eff jut needed 1st in buckets It appears that 7 teams had a chance to win it going into buckets that day. Points were spread out among many teams in that one.

In recent memory, you had 5 teams with a mathematical chance at the 09 states, and 4 teams with a chance at the 00 states.

Points were spread out among many teams in that one. The 1972 drill appears extremely tight, although there is no scoresheet posted, St James won it with 12.5 points. Appears that Bay Shore had the lead with 11 going into the buckets contest with West Sayville behind them with 10. St. James won the buckets contest while Bay Shore and West Sayville missed completely.
