West Hempstead B-Truck found on a farm near Newburgh by former Minute Men member Terry f*gan. Doors and front fenders were removed and stored in a barn. Pump and motor still in the truck. I believe it is a late 30's Ford? The guy used it to irrigate his farm. The back body is believed to be sitting on the farm also. One way or another this truck WILL be rescued. There will be more pics coming sometime next week. Does anyone know any history of this truck or have any pictures of it to post on here?

Kenny
Sean will be in contact with Kenny Conn shortly with the right number for Terry. I think this is great that it still exists and that you are going to restore it. What a great piece of racing history!

I went to see my Dad tonight and told him about this truck being found. He says: "Oh Kenny will go get it and make it beautiful again"
He then told me a story about a team in the 60's riding on a B-truck upstate to or from a drill I assume. They saw a barn on fire and used the truck and pump to draw water and put the fire out. Does anyone know about this or can tell the story better than that. I thought he said Mr. Biggs? was driving?

Historian asked me in a private message to tell the story of how Terry f*gan found this truck. This is how it was told to me so here ya go. Every day after work Terry drive's past this farm on his way home. Terry and Sean are looking for a 48-50 Ford to make a replica of the Minute Men's old B-Truck. He noticed that this farm had a lot of old trucks on it so after passing it numerous times he finally decided to stop in. He explained to the owner what he was looking for and what he wanted to do with it. He told him that he wanted to make a Fire Department replica B-truck out of it. The owner said, "I have one of those" and took terry for a ride through trails on his farm until they got to this truck. The owner said that the truck came from West Hempstead and he was going to scrap the chassis and back body unless someone wants it and sell the two front fenders because they are in great shape. He used it for the pump to irrigate his farm. The fact that this truck was found when it was about to get scrapped was such a stroke of luck and the fact that it was found at all is amazing! Sean is going there on Sunday to see if he is interested in anything and I think Kenny Brohm (Westerners Driver) is going there on Monday to bring her home. I should be getting more pics of it early next week. When I do, I will post them.

I have been looking through my stuff to try to find a video of this truck. I found a B-Ladder run in 1972 at Hempstead. The truck had the same front end of the previous pics but the back looks like it was cut down shorter (top to bottom) and it had Westerners in script across the side. Is this the same truck? If so, up to what year did WH run it? Is this a different back or was it just modified from before? hnic04? btw......Here is a pic of the drivers side rear in the weeds. You can see the hand rail and rear fender. The truck is not in the greatest shape in the world but with plenty of TLC im sure Kenny and the rest of the Westerners alumni will bring her back to life.
