These are some real rarities!!! Great find Vin!!!!! The last picture is on the wall in the new "glass house" in the building behind in the picture, you might want to stop by the museum Vin, they don't advertise it, but it's there and they would be happy to show it to you.

My guess, they must have had an overheating problem and installed a larger radiator and modified the grill for more air flow. It looks like the radiator was taller than the original, hense the unusual sheetmetal modification to the front top of the hood. The original cooling systems in those old trucks were not meant to keep those "big" engines cool! Remember the days when teams put a large block of ice on top of the radiator with the hood propped open as it would not close with the block of ice in there. This was done to keep the engine from overheating during the parades they were required to be driven in for every drill.
