I wish I had a copy of it. I know that the Snails Drill Teams has in their office a photo of Roger Kienle taking a head dive over the handle bars of the C-Truck when they had the T-Bird. Needless to say 200 plus stitches later we now wear helmets.

The NHP Driver had no idea that there was a problem so he did his usual pullout (ouch).
Roslyn has this run (where we got the photo) on video.

I would love to see photo's of the Westbury C Hose run yesterday. That was freaky. Never saw that happen before. Hope all members were OK.

wthat the run where the hose flew out and almost got wrapped up in rear tire? i was there and had to leave for a bit after c ladder and when i got back i heard something along those lines.

Some of the hose came out of the bed at the starting line. When they came into the hyd, a loop got caught under the right rear wheel, then it wrapped around the axle, the dragger got pulled and then the breaker or nozzle man got the rest of it. At the target, the hose fell into his lap and sent him for a wild ride. Luckily, he and the rest of the bunch is ok. The rear brake system sustained minor damage as well.

ok, now HERE is a rule change for the C trucks for SAFETY. There must be some type of device for ALL c trucks to keep the hose in the bed until it reaches the hydrant. I can't tell you how many times in the last 15 years I've seen it happen to other teams, and happened a few times to us.
Luckily, up until this past weekend, no one was seriously injured or had the potential to be seriously injured from it.

Its all in how you pack the hose. We put a piece of sheet metal in a spot to make the pack as tight as can be. Haven't seen any problems with this....

I used to hold the hose in the bed with my knee. It was prolly just a dumb error that will most definitely NOT happen again. Soon as the hose flew out, the shot should have been called off by someone on the back of the truck......(I was not on the truck so I do not know if noone even saw it or not, just speculating)

i dont know if the driver would have even heard somone on the back of the truck........i know our driver, with his helmet on, doesnt know whats goin on in the back of the truck. Dont you think that the officials should have tried to stop the driver.......that is what they are there for.

The driver will never hear this, as well, he shouldn't. This is for the guys on the back to deal with. Now, that being said, it should not happen. The officials cannot do anything either, it can only be avoided before the run.
