Great pictures. It's excellent noting where the climbers are on the ladder as the shadow of the ladder closes in on the arch. Thanks for posting these.

Not the best shot or most spectacular, but still one of the only shots of the "Flukes" mis-hap during C-hose at the 1986 state drill outside Syracuse. This racing legend (Pat Cooke ?) apparently got off the truck so fast he lost his footing and managed to grab the front tire before hitting the pavement. Fortunately the driver was aware and avoided a serious problem. The actual photo is a 2"x3" snippet, so unfortunately the scanner streaked and fuzzed the image quite a bit. Then I cropped it, enlarged it, and tried to sharpen it. If anyone wants the actual photo, they can try to do a better job. It's 2"x3", but pretty sharp and includes the hydrant.

It took me long to scroll down the West Sayville 8.65 C-Ladder Pictures than it did for Micheal Marra to climb the Ladder

Patchogue's "C" Truck went through the fence in 1987 during "C" Ladder. Robin Parris drove "C" Hose with a broken hand and without a radiator.
West Sayville's "B" Truck also found their way through the same fence many years later.

I recently received the pic from Alabama. Thanks Twabster. And yes, this is the only known picture of this shot. Here is my attempt at the scanning and posting of the pic: picsorban.com/upload/scan0002.jpg

picsorban.com/upload/scan0003.jpgFrom what I was recently told what had happened was the brakes locked up flinging the hydrantman forward up next to the truck. The driver and hydrantman looked directly at each other and the driver turned the truck left away from the hydrantman. Thus avoiding disaster.
