It is with deep regret that we announce that Calvin "Jake" Parris, longtime coach of the Patchogue 40 Thieves Drill Team, Honorary Chief of the Patchogue Fire Department and past New York State Firefighter of the Year, has answered his last alarm.
SERVICES:
All wake services will be at the Van Guard Firehouse, 11 Park Street, Patchogue.
Tuesday November 10th- 6pm to 9pm-
Wednesday November 11th- 2-4pm, 6-9pm.
FIREMATIC SERVICES: Wednesday November 11th- 8:00pm.
FUNERAL: Thursday November 12th 10:30 Mass Service at St. Francis De Sales Church, South Ocean Avenue, Patchogue. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetary, Jennings Ave, Patchogue.
We are asking if any teams would like to take part in a "B" Truck tribute, Thursday morning, at the Rider Ave. Track where we held our yearly drills, please PM me on here ASAP. We will be taking Jake on our "B" Truck for one last ride down the track and through the arch and it would be heartwarming to see some of his friends, young and old, there to see him off.
On behalf of the Parris family, The Patchogue Fire Department and the 40 Thieves Drill Team, thank you for the kind words and sentiments.
Timothy Bigotti Patchogue 40 Thieves

A true icon has passed. Will always remember Jake's infectious smile. You could tell by looking in his eyes, the wheels were turning constantly looking to gain an advantage any way he could-- that's racing!
R.I.P. Jake.
Let us know if we can help with anything, Lenny S.J.F.D.

Deepest condolences to the Parris family, the Forty Thieves, and the Patchogue Fire Department. Racing has lost a dedicated man. Jake and his sons coached us on a number of events in the early 80's to help us become more competitive. I will never forget their help and assistance. RIP.
