I am working on putting together the state records through the years (like the old website had) and have found an issue.
Were the records for C-Hose, B-Hose, and Efficiency retired after 1980?
I have times for records in those events from scorecards from 1981 showing different (higher) numbers as the records then what would seem to be correct.
I searched this board and haven't found any reference to this.

Adam, hoping someone with some more time out there can answer this, but I believe they were retired following the 1980 season because they changed how the water test were conducted. I believe they were conducting the water test through double jacket hose through 1980, then with many teams using saturn hose, the state adjusted to using the same equipment that the teams were using.

Thanks Mike, that makes sense. After looking deeper I saw that it was all 4 hose events.
I have an excellent list of all records set between 7/1/78 and 9/5/83 from Daytona Dave. It indicates for all 4 hose events that the "old record was retired" in listing the new records set at Woodmere on 6/13/81 (apparently Lindenhurst was run under hand time).
