West Hempstead's most recently old C went to Massapequa. The Rough Riders old, was built in Pa and is now owned by Brentwood.

The Floral Park "Willys" was a cut-down of the 41' Ford they purchased from the Islip Wolves, when the Wolves went to an El Camino in 1971. Not an A & P Automotive (Ed Akam), team members Jim Fairben & Billy Green did that themselves. I loved the look of the 41' Ford, too bad it weighed a ton...
There is a whole era of cut-down c-trucks, where the commercial chassis trucks evolved into lighter rails... Syosset's F-100 is also depicted on this thread. The great DVD from Main-Transit shows it was also done in Western. Some of them went down to nothing, and they were not the best handling vehicles, compared to the newer specific-built rides of the late 70's.
The Illion find is a great one. That picture is from the 1976 states in Watertown. They ran last that day, and tied for fourth in 3-Man ladder, just .04 from 1st place, quite a suprise! You can see as they get ready for C-Hose the identical twins who were the second man, and last man that day. Thier truck was a pretty clean ride, and ran a small block Chevy, which was unheard of in those days. (I was pretty mild, I think it was just a 350c.i. version) It was not related to Elmonts in any way.

Seems to me that Philly "Quakers" truck went to the Albion "Fire-Flies" after Philly disbanded. I recognize that fiberglass body shell as the same used on the Albion "C" shown here: community.webshots.com/photo/170447562/170447562XKdznl I recall Philly visited Spencerport's track one year in the late '70's or early '80's, but skimmed the side of the arch, and lost a bolt or something down in the intake. That was the last I'd heard of them "Quakers" running for awhile.

That is indeed the truck that Albion used, they purchased it from Philadelphia. The truck has seen burned in a fire where Albion lost all its equipment.......

FYI - I have a photo, though not a very good one, from 1986 state drill of Amityville with a C-truck almost exactly like the Wolves, Bangtails & Rough Riders trucks posted recently in this thread. So that makes at least 3 different C's for Amityville "Villians" over the years. I'll scan & upload it only if anyone is interested, because it's not what I consider a good quality view of it. BTW - Anyone remember the previous Guzzlers C ? The body styling made it almost resemble a "knocked over beer bottle with wheels", which I thought was pretty clever for a drinking team with a racing problem. Again, I took a photo of that truck racing at the '86 state, but there's a couple officials standing in front obscuring the view. Anyone have a good clear shot of that cool rig, or at least know what I'm talking about ?

I have a pic or 2 of the "Guzzlers" Henry J floating around somewhere.

Joe, I had a starting line pic of the "B" from '82 states in Olean. I think the snow flakes blocked a clear shot of the rig though.

I wanted to drop the appropriate photos here, but I ran into the dreaded "Red X's"
Albertson's Henry J and East Islip's were twin C-trucks built by John Mosior in the mid-60's

Jusmik... what CFD's saying is, one of those Dutchmen's trucks is now E. Islip's current. Can you guess which one ?
